What charity would you like to nominate?

Sapphire Care Foundation

Sapphire Carewas founded in 2003 with the vision delivering exceptional care, lifestyle & surroundings for those living in aged care. They have established a foundation that supports established not-for-profit organisations that have proven they make a difference to the lives and health of vulnerable people in their community. Some of the organisations they support include

  • Anan Kara - community funded home like residence for people with chronic or terminal illness

  • Benwerren - place of refuge for women & children that have experienced trauma.
  • The Children's Sanctuary Cambodia.
  • Jodie O'Shea - home for orphaned or destitute children in Bali.

Why have you chosen this charity?

I have chosen this charity as I have had the opportunity to work for this organisation.  Currently there is limited cares for elderly people in aged care but also for disadvantage people in the community and around the world. Such as Cambodia and Bali.

Why is CrossFit your preferred method of training?

Well it was not until I went out for dinner with Bridget who I used to worked with. I noticed that she was happy and full of motivation including her weekends. I decided to give it ago one day as my gym routine was getting too monotonous. The day I decided to try then I realised, “Boy” this is what you need as a Cuban boy. Really enjoy.

Tell us what you enjoy most about training at NthSide?

Number one the friendliness of the trainers. The fact that every day is different. I love the whole routine. It really gives me the motivation to come for training every day even when my energy level is exhausted.
