Why have you chosen this charity?
SANE is a Melbourne-based charity supporting people with mental illness to live fuller lives. Many people I care about have experienced mental illness. Supporting people to find a brighter path when they might struggle to find it themselves can sometimes make all the difference.
Why is CrossFit your preferred method of training?
It’s very holistic, so there’s always something to work on – or in my case, everything to work on. While people have different strengths and abilities, we’re all working up to, and sometimes beyond, where things get challenging. The sense of effort, encouragement and progress around the gym is energising.
Tell us what you enjoy most about training at NthSide?
I enjoy meeting people from the neighbourhood who I might not otherwise get to know. It’s nice to share a space and a challenge with such a diverse and friendly community.
